Last Star

Written by Jacob Ibrag

Seemed like a good idea until it wasn’t.

By then, it was too late. Regret consumes your

insides, barricading your mind. Trying to justify.

Tomorrow’s a blur, an impossibility. Too good to

be true scenario, no way you’ll survive this. You

gave her your heart and she hasn’t reciprocated.

She walks away, erasing all the memories. You

stare into the blind sky, ‘she was suppose to be

mine.’ Footsteps approach back, matching your

pulse. She laughs, embracing you in a hug.

Whispering, ‘I’ve been waiting forever,

I’ll love you till the last star expires.’
