Written by Jacob Ibrag
Wednesday, three thirteen in
the morning. Avoiding the itch on her left
eyelid, she lifts herself off the gray carpet and walks
towards the moonless windowsill. It’s been months since
her father had last visited and asked for her forgiveness. Afraid
of fracturing of what was left of their relationship, she made him
swear to never reveal his secret. Passing away the following day,
she would learn that he was terminally fated. ‘You tried your
best to protect me from your pain. Can’t ever forgive
myself for pushing your last words away.’
So Beautiful

I love the structure, how the text bulges out and funnels in again. It makes me think of the last words of someone I loved deeply, the title ‘forgive’ suits the message well.

This is beautifully written. Chilling and thought-provoking at the same time… This is something to ponder, and then act upon accordingly.
