Fallen

We’ve fallen from the highest of places and grasp

onto the cheapest of gestures. Manipulated to accept

whatever is left as sanity slips through the slits of our

pockets. Mind in a state of trance, eyes distracted by

the rich foliage. ‘It’s beautiful,’ we let it get to this.

  2. As I watched the presidential debates last evening, I thought how little substance was shared and how much sidestepping and insane name calling happened. Smoke Screens and rabbit trails, all to keep us from seeing the reall thing.
    You poem describes this exactly. America with its head in the sand! Avoiding the reality!
