Written by Jacob Ibrag
‘I haven’t been able to think clearly in several
weeks. My mind has been clouded and I can’t figure out
the reason,’ I noted as my mom looked at her own reflection
in the screaming kettle. Finally turning off the stove, she prepared
a cup of white cherry tea and handed it to me. As I took a few cautious
sips, she sat by my side and asked me to listen carefully, ‘because once
I share this with you, I won’t ever be able to remember. Take care
of these words, and deliver those clouds to their makers.’

The sharing of secrets,
hidden
within the mind,
passed
down,
made into
those rhythmic rhymes…

I won’t ever be able to remember it – the first thing that came to my mind was alzheimer’s – which has nothing to do with it does it?

It doesn’t, but I can see how you made that connection.

Take care of these words. Delivered like a speech or a baby, who needs to be taken care of. Lovely

There’s a lot of love under your poems. Good to see.
I’ve been away but now I’m back. Though not sure for how long.
