“I Love You.”
I remember seeing those words scribbled in red across
her bathroom mirror. It was a romantic sight, for eight-year-old
me, to see something so simple, yet so sweet, make her smile like that.
But the smile did not last and the words were soon wiped off. And I often
wonder what confused me the most, the fact that she could erase “I
love you” so easily or the fact that he abused it so carelessly.

This is a great piece!
Thanks Jacob for letting her on here, on your site,
and for introducing me (or us your readers) to another fine writer.
