Honest

Written by Jacob Ibrag

‘I haven’t been honest,’ with

you. ‘I said that everything was fine,’

and it wasn’t. ‘There are things I need to

work through,’ and I’ll convince you to let

me go. ‘There isn’t anything you can do,’

except stay when I’ll tell you not to.

  2. I find myself struggling with letting go or not of a good friend relationship, and I think your words speak to that which we all go through whether in intimacy or long-term friendship. To be true to oneself and to be able to let go of that which no longer serves me is an axiom for good mental health and well-being. I strive to put my attention on what is life giving for me. Thank you for sharing your poetry.

  11. Learning to read what is said is wonderful. Learning to read what isn’t said is an art. learning to do both is a lifelong endeavor rich with treasure. Well written and very powerful.
