Both

Written by Jacob Ibrag

‘You saw this coming?’ From

the beginning. ‘And you didn’t stop us.’

Both of you were blind with lust. Anything I’d

say would leave you to believe that my intentions

were laced with jealousy. ‘All the time I lost, all the

time I’ll never get back.’ All the time that was

needed for you to learn about yourself.

  1. Time can be wasted with good intentions to help someone unwilling to help him self .
Time can be wasted because of lack of desire in one of them or both of them.
Lust is not the only culprit .
Nobility need not achieve its purpose and be thought of as futile.
Pure love with out lust wastes more time than desire.

  5. Wow this is so relevant to what I’m going through. Investing so much time in a relationship, in someone, only for them to leave you after they have learned something new about themselves.

  7. I wonder if the speaker’s intentions are good. The narrator reads as condescending. Patronizing. Smug. A voice barely containing its “I told you so” beneath the veneer of purported wisdom.

Kudos for eliciting strong feelings with this snippet of dialogue.

  8. The other didn’t see it, however both were blind…and you position yourself as a guide.

No time passed is wasted if we can learn something from it.
