Realization

Written by Jacob Ibrag

Progressions and

recollections. The high from

making a decision. The high from being

certain. The high from knowing everything. And

then nostalgia creeps in. The flooding of images and

what ifs. Mental calibration and rationalization. Mental

re-calibration and rationalization. Re-calibrating and

rethinking. ‘I threw away a good thing.’ Walking

back towards a fractured path. The slow

realization that no one is there.

Over the years Eyes + Words has turned into a wonderful budding family of over fifteen thousand people across all platforms. It’s surreal and humbling to know that the art of poetry and story is alive and thriving. That being said, I hope that the creation of the Eyes + Words Writers Group serves as a vehicle and launch pad to help and support writers and the aspiring ones to keep manifesting words that many out there are searching for everyday. So go on and contribute, lets elevate together. Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences with anything involving writing.

  5. I’ve learned that missing someone or visiting old haunts and good memories doesn’t always mean you’ve thrown away a good thing– and that moving forward in a relationship where there’s been turbulence doesn’t mean you walk back- it means you walk forward in forgiveness and hope. Empty spaces mean to me that they have walked forward in their own hopes and their own changes- and what better thing can we hope for than peace in their own lives when peace cannot be attained together?

  8. This is precisely WHY we should only look forward in our lives to where we’re headed next, because if we keep on looking back, or even, walking backwards, we won’t see where we’re headed, we might hit something, and we’d missed out on what the world is offering us in the now…very wise!!!
