Written by Jacob Ibrag
They keep telling me that we only
have one life to live, yet how could
that be true if that every time we
eclipse, I’d see glimpses of our past
lives yesterday’s. The weak knees
you’d gift me after an unexpected
kiss. The promise we would always
make to never sever in the face of
adversity. The pain of you passing,
leaving me broken again. The hard
acceptance that forever was a myth.
And still, there’s something soothing
to understand that at the end of us,
we’ll have another chance. After this
lifetime and the next, you’ll still be
the only soul that’s ever made sense.
