Expectations

Written by Jacob Ibrag

Expectations. It takes the reality out of

everything. You think you know what you’re

getting, then the situation turns on it’s face.

Advice. Go to your mirror, reach for the wings

attached to your back. Realize that these wings

are only in your mind. Fairy tale characters laugh

at us, how could we be so full of ourselves? You

crave perfection. Have you given? Have you given

without expecting? Expectations. Kill them. Be in

the moment, share yourself with the world that

brought you into it. Give everything. Give your

heart. Share your soul. Fall in love. Unexpected.

THE ACCURACY in this poem is too real. Expectations are hard to abide by!

  11. It is beautiful— but sometimes I think it is good to have the reality taken out and just imagine and dream!
