Again

Pillow squeezed between her thighs.

Sun touching her eyelids, carrying life into her

hearts beat. Breathing a little heavier, with purpose.

Stretching her arm out to the other side of the bed,

there used to be someone there. Vacated again, empty

promises of forever didn’t seem to stick. Streaming

thoughts of last night, his stare etched into her mind.

Sounds coming from the cold morning floor, she

glances over to find its source. He’s curled into

a ball, ‘kicked him out of bed, again.’
