For me, your work here made me think about how some people seem to only care about their own nourishment, willingly ignorant or genuinely blind to the other person’s needs. So much so that it’s to the point where it’s something expected—or even feeling owed to them—rather than being appreciated for what it is. To expend so much energy and emotional labor growing something with someone, only for it become discolored; to wilt; to die because of their own maladaptive—that does feel like being torn apart inside. That’s my interpretation, anyway.
