Choice

Written by Jacob Ibrag

His eyes closed for one last time. The mind at a

state of peace, the soul ready to let go of its vessel. As

the soul reached towards the light, a heartbeat came around.

It was a fading beat, one that was moments away from disappearing

completely. Choice. The serene white light called for the soul, but it

was that beat, that fading body. For without a soul, the body was empty

and the new parents would be left in pieces. The soul full of wisdom and

completion. Goodbye. Memories lost forever. Ideas and realizations gone.

The souls other half, waiting a little longer in the light. It would be

the ultimate price, and the greatest gift. The soul found

it’s new home. Rebirth. Reincarnation.
