Don’t Blink

Written by Jacob Ibrag

The air tasted different when yesterday called

me. Never have I felt so nostalgic and frozen. Why does

everything keep coming back to the moment I heard your

voice? Remember when the rain stood still as I covered your

heart with my lips? ‘Young and naïve.’ that’s what the eyes of

others whispered all around us. For a spark in time, we were

intertwined and lost within each other’s minds. Don’t blink

you once said, and I did. You disappeared and left me with

your scent. You’re standing right outside my door

soaking wet, smiling. Moon reflecting off

your emerald greens. Don’t blink.
