When Eyes + Words was created, the intention was to
slow down time. On January 1st, 2015, I had realized that
I couldn’t remember much of 2014. My life was filled with
deadlines and routine. I had went through certain things
in the early parts of 2014, but that was it. The rest of the
year was just a blur, like it never happened. In an effort to
take back some of that time, I decided to start writing
everyday, figuring that I’d be able to track the year and truly
feel the moments as they came. And to my surprise it worked.
Everyday a poem or story, and something happened. All of
you started paying attention. You connected with my words
and I wanted to give you more. Then you started sharing your
stories and thoughts and I was intoxicated by all of it. You
made this the greatest and most memorable year of my life.
I just hope we can keep connecting and share our stories with
more friends that are willing to listen. Have a beautiful start
to hopefully another memorable year.
Thank You.

I’m lucky to have found you here, Jacob. It’s truly amazing how writing makes the time fly by, but yet each piece is memorable. 💕

First, Happy New Year! I’ve been keeping a journal for years now, starting in March 2010, slacked off somewhat during 2012 and picked up again in August 2013. I’ve been at it since, and I know what you mean. I wouldn’t recall much of what I did in either of those three years, and I am keeping track of what I’m doing currently with it. And it’s a great way to center yourself for a day of writing.

Happy New Years Alan 🙂 I couldn’t agree more with you, writing is such a gift. With so many mind numbing distractions, I’d like to believe that writing even a word a day keeps the brain awake.
