I think I’m gonna stop
playing concerts. Immediately
after I get on stage, faces are
transplanted with plastic white
flashes. Waves of lost minds
shooting footage instead of
being with me in the moment.
Multiple vantage points of the
left side of my face to the right.
Constantly wanting to beam my
mic into the clueless crowd that
forgot how to live in the now.
Running in circles, we’re all
running with no purpose.
‘Selfie?’ I guess this is the
part where I say cheese.

I get it. But I thought to myself this morning about this void and recumbent aspect of life and writing… how many things are really forgotten until the poet illuminates it. I love the metaphor in this poem.

Oh I did very much. It echoed some of the things I was feeling as well.

Really amazing message, it’s great to see such a great image paired up by poetry.

Love it! I’m so guilty of this! But there was a time when cameras weren’t allowed and cell phones didn’t exist. How I wish I had shots of those awesome moments but I do have great memories! Thanks for the reminder of being in the here and now! 🙂

Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂 We all are guilty, we want to capture fleeting magical moments while simultaneously experiencing them. Slowly but surely, we forget about living and worry more about recording. Haha still waiting for extreme virtual reality devices to truly allow us to relive fading memories.

Yeah… It’s so sad that people nowadays use their phones as an extension of their eyes!
