Pieces

Written by Jacob Ibrag

‘I’ll bring my heart,

you just bring that smile,’

he whispered as he guided

her hand towards his four

chambers. ‘And what if I

break you into a million

pieces?’ Retracting away

from him, she closes her

eyes and turns the other

way. ‘How could that ever

be true if the only time

I feel whole is when I’m

standing next to you?’

That’s beautiful. But there isn’t a smiley for the noise you make when recognition and admiration combine.

I’m thinking of Sartre’s NO EXIT. Hell is other people.

Beautifully written, I know how helpless that feels. Lovely piece.
