Written by Jacob Ibrag
By the time their first date was over,
he realized that he had to be on top of
his game if he wanted to keep up with
her. She was more than a girl but a
collection of all of the books and stories
her soul has ever consumed. He felt
enthralled and never wanted to linger
on another person’s words like he did
with hers. As they walked towards her
door near the end of the night, she felt
the need to apologize, ‘I just felt like I
had so much to say, I don’t know it’s as
if this hasn’t been the first time we’ve
met. Your eyes, they just invited me in.’
Shying away, he laughed and whispered
that this was his favorite night of the year,
‘not at all, you’re a breath of fresh air.’
