Written by Jacob Ibrag
‘This is the place. Walk over that patch and ask anything
you wish. You don’t have to say it out loud, they’ll know
the second you think it.’ Handing over her slippers to him,
she bit her lower lip in anticipation and made way towards
it. The closer she got, the warmer her skin felt. Clenching
her eyes shut, she stood on her toes and flooded her mind
with one question, ‘does breathing get any easier?’ Waiting
for what seemed like an eternity, she began to second guess
whether her question made any sense, that maybe it wasn’t
worthy of answering. ‘Far from it. You posses the key to the
door for which you are afraid to enter. This existence isn’t
meant to be easy, nor perfect. The foundation of a life worth
living is built upon the tears you are willing to part with.
Embrace these words, open up those eyelids.’
