And as the game finished between us,
you looked outside to the night and asked me
a question. You asked if I could take any of these
memories back, would I erase them? Like a dream,
were we would wake in separate beds and swear that
yesterday was real. I’d be a liar if I said yes to you.
We grew through it all, we just grew apart.

Great poem! 😎

This really speaks to me, especially as someone who has a whole lot of relationships go sour. When it goes wrong it hurts and it wounds you, but you do learn from them, and you can become a better person afterwards, and for good or ill the bad times are as much a part of you as the good.

That’s a great outlook to have regarding failed relationships. I think that the best thing either party could truly do is try to learn a little bit more about themselves.

Sometimes, you just can’t hold on to the love, no matter how much you wanted to, you just have to, let go in the end…
