Poetry

Within

Written by Jacob Ibrag

Changing places. I’ve grown out of this

space. If I stay, this routine will become the

beginning of my extinction. Choice stares into

my tired eyes, variety for the picking. Bones begin

to shake as my teeth get locked into a clench.

Anticipation. Never felt more alive in my

entire existence. Growth ensues from

within, killing the confusion I was

born and plagued with.

Is this poem about wanting to get out of the place you’ve lived for so long because you feel trapped, in a way? You want to get away from routine and experience something new.

Hi, Jacob! This is a really nice poem of yours. This resonates with what I’m feeling at this juncture in life — and likely does with many people, rightabout now.
