Awakened

Written by Jacob Ibrag

She slept with it for days. Pain unbearable,

didn’t phase her. She carried it and accepted the

new limb that protruded from her four chambers. He

never misses, yet she remained breathing. Bleeding hearts

carry an expiration, but this was different. She was awakened,

no not reawakened. The naive are born with eyes shut, smiling

and believing the lies that are sung from their deceivers. This

dagger flipped a switch, the feeling uplifting. She would heal

and think with more reason. ‘Fool me once, shame on

me. You’ll never fool me twice.’ Diverged Reality.
