Scents

Written by j. p. berame

Some flowers bloom at night,

they are scent more than sight. And

babe, it’s alright to smell better than their

light. I see you, no. I smell you, yes. You smell

like buttered toasts in a cozy breakfast nook. You

smell like salt, spraying on stormy nights by the sea.

You smell like wet dirt, always thirsty for the first rain.

You smell like sweat on late mornings under the linens.

You smell like my perfume, made darker by your musk.

You smell like my skin against yours. You smell

like me and I love you for it because

babe, you smell like home.
