Mountain

Written by Jacob Ibrag

‘We’ve been here before,’ he whispered as she

pushed through the broken door that led into the

mountain. ‘Wait,’ he said with a little more purpose.

‘All of this has already happened. Me whispering to you

that we’ve been here before, you opening this broken door.

Every moment, as if we’ve been reading off a script. It’s only

when you turned the knob that everything kinda came back to

me. What the hell is happening?’ Grabbing hold of his hands,

she told him to calm down, that the voices in the mountain

were listening. ‘I know we have. Been wondering when you

were going to come back. Thirteen minutes left until the

reset. Help me find the room, lets finally end this.’

  8. Very intriguing, the sense of urgency and confusion building is excellent. The plot is a prompt for the mind to extrapolate before and after, the snapshot just a moment in an even more peculiar tale…
