Holes

Written by Jacob Ibrag

Invincible little queen. Looking over the shoulders of her

society, she laughs at the thought of an uprising. Losing sense of

her complete kingdom, detractors plant seeds. Rooting doubt within

her people, they expose holes within her monarchy. Waking up to a

sinking castle, drowning under a crown supported by nothing.

  8. So, this woman ended up, ruling absolutely nothing, not even with the controls over her own life, it’s truly sad…

  10. The last line is particularly powerful. It can almost exist as a poem on it’s own. There is so much meaning that can be inferred and discovered in the notion of waking up to the sinking of one’s own Castle under an unsupported crown; especially in the world that exists today (and lets face it, all throughout History).

  11. The last line is so powerful. It can exist as a poem on it’s own. There is something so powerful about the image of someone waking up to the loss of their Castle under the weight of an unsupported crown. It is a highly relevant comment, especially within our current political climate. Well done.
