Poetry

Backwards

Written by Jacob Ibrag

It’s the way it bends. Backwards,

towards their direction. There’s a space. Moving

lips, words giving up after a certain distance. Antique

bridge. A drop separated from her lake. ‘Doesn’t need to be

permanent.’ She has to know what they’re saying. It’s the

way it bends. Backwards, towards a place she left.
