Sky

Written by Jacob Ibrag

The sky breaks open. Humanity stops what it’s doing. We’re

connected. Helplessness infected with a growing pile of questions. The

void rips further across the atmosphere, leaving behind a trail of punctured

clouds and strands of lightening. Government agencies phone in one another,

seeking answers of what this could mean for all of us.  ‘This has to be related to

the eclipse.’ It isn’t and then again, it is. An accidental distraction. A spectacle to

capture attention as something was coming. I took my glasses off and rubbed

my eyes as a two thousand foot ship came through the pocket in our sky.

This is great. For some reason it reminds me of Birdland by Patti Smith..
