Delaying

Written by Jacob Ibrag

You don’t have to

look too far to understand what’s

missing. Plane sight. You’ve known before

even thinking it. Tip of the tongue. The anxiety

to unpack its meaning. Connotations waltzing in a

panic. Delaying. ‘Maybe, it’ll go away.’ Delaying.

The encoded thrives on patience. Delaying.

Reminders painted in each blink.

I love the word choice. Your verbs hold a lot of weight and make the imagery really stand out.

Brings to mind an insidious illness, like cancer — how it “thrives on patience” in the sense that if a person patiently waits/avoids/delays a checkup, the disease can soon overpower and further infiltrate, unbeknownst to its host. One of many possible meanings…

Thanks for providing thought provocation. πŸ™‚
