Then it hit me

all at once. Last year had

come and gone. It’s not them, it’s

what I have given that had never been

found. Then it hit me all at once. A new

year had begun. It’s not them, it’s

what I’ll never become.

Over the years Eyes + Words has turned into a wonderful budding family of over fifteen thousand people across all platforms. It’s surreal and humbling to know that the art of poetry and story is alive and thriving. That being said, I hope that the creation of the Eyes + Words Writers Group serves as a vehicle and launch pad to help and support writers and the aspiring ones to keep manifesting words that many out there are searching for everyday. So go on and contribute, lets elevate together. Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences with anything involving writing.

  10. You need not become anyone. You are who you really are, only you are in the shadow for a moment, it is just a matter of coming out to the light. Love and Light from me πŸ™‚ ❀

  11. This was a great post. Wistful, pensive and melancholy. Reminds me of the thoughts that overcome me when I watch water flowing out from the downstream side of a bridge. A fitting symbol of time slipping away. Bravo!

In my own lexicon, IT translates to mastery of sacrifice. What could scare us more?

  14. “Of what you’ll never become”…what about who you already have become? Who are right now.. I like the poem because it makes me wonder what you mean by that. I also love the shape of the poem, how you made it into a picture as well.

  16. New Year’s Day has a way of capping the most depressing season with regret. Coldly concise.
