Third-Degree Lucidity

Written by Jacob Ibrag

‘Sleeping in front of a sun.’ Some decisions are

made with ease, no contemplating necessary. ‘Reaching

out into the fire.’ Autopilot mode, streaming agreements in a

sea of no’s. ‘Third-degree lucidity.’ And then somewhere along

the line of being, the mind begins anew. A medic reaching

consciousness in the middle of a battlefield. Clothes

soaked in red. Unable to tell the difference

between enemies and friends.

Over the years Eyes + Words has turned into a wonderful budding family of over fifteen thousand people across all platforms. It’s surreal and humbling to know that the art of poetry and story is alive and thriving. That being said, I hope that the creation of the Eyes + Words Writers Group serves as a vehicle and launch pad to help and support writers and the aspiring ones to keep manifesting words that many out there are searching for everyday. So go on and contribute, lets elevate together. Everyone is encouraged to share their experiences with anything involving writing.

When one is dazed, or is not being mindful, there is a tendency to confuse earnest, constructively critical, friends with mortal enemies. Let there be little such confusion in your life, my friend.

Powerful prose as always. I love to open your newest contribution here at WordPress because I know my curiosity is sure to be rewarded. No different today. Thanks for sharing resonating words that I feel give me not only pause, but another fine reason to employ my penchant for conscious thought and focus!

Sometimes we don’t even recognize we are in a battlefield until the battle is almost over.
