Fade away like you always do. I’ve been strung
along by the king of ventriloquism. Contort my limbs till you
get tired and quit. Dust me off and repeat. Not this time though,
I know better. Don’t you dare turn around and look at me with
those eyes. It’s too late. Whisper your sorry’s, I won’t be listening.
Trace my lips with your scheming finger tips. ‘One more chance,’ you
beg for it. I’ve been down this road before and failure awaits those that
walk the darkness without a flame. I am that flame, going out undeniably.
Knees crumbling to your plea. Can’t help but feel weak. Falling for it
all over, again. I am the Pharaoh, you are my red sea.
In denial, barely breathing.

Yes. It would be comforting to be able to master that situation being thrust into it without feeling helpless. Saved by G-d, and prayer. Very comforting!

Ugh, heart-wrenching. My favorite line was, “I’ve been down this road before, failure awaits those that walk the darkness without a flame.” Truer words…beautiful piece, I haven’t seen a piece that beset explains the vicious cycle of falling for the wrong person.

It still amazes me how thoughts can be universal that they take form in different words. . . And yet the feelings are exact.
This piece is so powerful!
