Promise

Written by Jacob Ibrag

She walked into the room and saw him.

He laid helpless, trying to regain strength

to open his eyes and see her one last time.

‘I’ve known you my whole life. When I’d

fall, you’d bring me up and wipe away my

tears. Whispering, promising that you

would always be there.’ He grabbed her

hand, willing his words into her heart,

‘I’ll always be with you. Stay honest

and promise you’ll never stop

smiling.’ Wiping away her

tears, she nodded yes.
