Coexisted

Written by Jacob Ibrag

She watched as he packed his belongings for

the last time. They’d fight every now and then,

yet this was different. They realized that they

didn’t fit, that they merely coexisted. As he walked

through the apartment door, she thought about

running towards him to ask him to stay. ‘That’s

what would’ve happened in the movies. Ex

machina, I think I found a solution.’ This was

anything but a sliver screen illusion, this was

their reality. A forced dance to the wrong beat.

Part of her wished that she loved him more,

‘I’m sorry I couldn’t be your end all be all.’

picture expresses the feelings of the poem beautifully. sometimes to let go is better, than hold on.

Coexistence without love and respect has no meaning at all.
