Day seven. She wakes up. Four
in the morning. Kisses him. Gets
dressed. Goes running. In denial.
Sweat hugs her body. Acceptance.
Runs faster. Can’t go back. Out of
breath. Feeling guilty. Her husband
will be back in two days. Glancing
at the empty black sky, not a star
out to witness her cry. Wishing to
understand why she did what she
did. ‘Was it all worth it?’

Like it. But live without regret.

Interesting twist. I at first thought she was in denial that he had cheated on her–and then the truth became clear.
