Miss

Written by Jacob Ibrag

I understand the early sun better

than I do your smile. Ms. Double Entendre,

you’re making me second guess what we’ve become.

Miss sharing the night in the embrace of eachothers arms.

Ms. Don’t Worry, I depise drinking this morning joe. We’re

supposed to be sleeping in, not contemplating on yet

another weekend hour. Miss knowing who

we were before we got lost.

Jacob, I have some emotions in me I want to express, I just don’t have the skill to do that eloquently enough to put it out there. They would be stilted and clumsy. You have the skill, probably honed over thousands of words, to say things in a way that moves your readers, makes them see what you see, feel what you feel. Thank you for putting in the time and effort to consistently create such art.

    I am in awe.

I would just like to echo Stephen’s comment. A more beautifully bittersweet last line would be hard to find.
