Bubble

Written by Jacob Ibrag

Don’t ask me how my day

has been in hopes that I reciprocate.

What could have possibly changed from

yesterday? We’re still together, barely. Still

hanging out with your friends and not mine.

Never mine because they make you feel crappy.

Your friends because they feed into your delusion

that everything is perfect. You tell them that we’re

happy and excited for the future. Look at them eat

your words up, they’re just like us. Living in

a bubble, till one of us finally pops.

I had been there before, never again. Now that I know what love is actually supposed to feel like, I stopped settling and I have an amazing partner and best friend. ♡ Thank you for sharing this. I could feel every word….

You just might need to be the person who POPS those bubbles for the one you’re with, because it seems to me, that s/he is not growing as a person, and allowing others (the friends???) to dictate how s/he will act…

Love this poem. I think in the first line you have a little typo but it’s still really good!

Interesting, the masks people wear to exhibit perfection.
